A short walk east of Marty and a few steps off the paved trail in the park is this often visited site.  It has plenty of room to walk along the large flat limestone stream bank or sit in the shade under the sycamore tree and watch for birds and other animals that may be found near the water.  Just beyond the trees and the limestone is an abrupt change to highly impervious surfaces of parking lots, streets and roofs of businesses and homes.  There are noticeable suds in the water as a result of phosphates used in the watershed.  These human impacts and natural features have made this a great place for students to learn about water quality in our T.R.U.E. Blue program.

After there are several entries for a site, observing and predicting changes is a great learning activitiy. Observing, documenting and predicting environmental change is a cornerstone of environmental protection.
