Thank you to all the teachers and adult leaders who helped make KC Clean Streams 2011 a great success.
This year, nearly 6,000 students representing more than 60 schools and all ages picked up trashe in creeks, streams and school yards in 2011.
KC Clean Streams is the largest student led litter pick up. Our theme "NO TRASH LEFT BEHIND" is designed to motivate students to always be mindful of trash left on the ground. If trash is on the ground, and not picked up, it ends up in our river.
BRWA has been organizing this initiative since 1998. BRWA provides gloves, trash bags, educational materials, and t-shirts (to early
registrars) free of charge. If you would like to organize a litter pick up, please contact Leslie Alford at lalford@brwa.net or Kate Delehunt at kdelehunt@brwa.net to receive your free gloves, trash bags and educational materials. If you need a site to clean up-we would be happy to try and help you locate an area in the metro that needs help.
