Community Partnerships
Part of BRWA's mission is to serve as a representative of the citizens of Kansas City, to voice their concerns and opinions about the importance of healthy watersheds. BRWA participates as a citizen representative in a number of ways, including serving on the following committees:
KCMO Water Services Wet Weather Community Panel
A community panel formed by the KCMO to provide input on plans for infrastructure improvements designed to address wet weather challenges such as sewer overflows, sanitary sewer backups in basements, water quality impacts, property damage, and on occasion, threats to human life due to flooding.
Water Quality Education Task Force
An advisory committee, facilitated by Mid-America Regional Council, to provide input on water quality education and outreach efforts across the metro region.
Kansas City Environmental Education Network
A network of environmental educators working together to expand environmental education in our region.
Brush Creek Coordinating Committee
A basin-wide coordination committee, involving public and private interests, formed to share information and discuss strategies for the Brush Creek Basin in KCMO.
